Library Cards

Library cards are issued to residents of Genesee, Orleans and Niagara counties.  You may also receive a library card if you work, own property or attend school in Batavia.  You must present proper identification to apply for a card:   picture ID plus name and current street address.  Children are issued cards when they can sign their own name.   Fees for lost cards are $1.00 for the first replacement; $5.00 for all subsequent replacement cards.

Patrons must present a valid library card to check out materials.

Non-resident cards are available for a fee of $40.00 per year.

Loan Periods, Renewals, Requests

• Three week loan period for all materials except videos and dvds.
• Videos and dvds are loaned for one week. 
• All materials may be renewed twice unless there is a waiting list for that item. 
• Materials may be renewed by phone (343-9550 x 2) or via My Account
• Materials may be requested by phone or via the Catalog

Overdue Fees

• Adult items are $.20 a day per item. Maximum fine of $5.00 per item.
  Lost item:  cost of replacement

• Children’s items are $.10 a day per item. Maximum fine of $5.00 per item.
  Lost item:  cost of replacement

• DVDs are $1.00 a day per item. Maximum fine of $10.00 per item.
