Find Flo the Flamingo. She is looking for Richmond Reader and needs your help!
Flo is almost home... I hope she makes it to the library by June 28th.
Week 7: Clue for afternoon of June 19 to morning of June 26 is: “Refreshed, Flo flies for miles until she sees flowers. She doesn’t know anything about the flowers on your island but she is hoping with all her heart that this is where she can find Richmond Reader. She desires a happy ending to this story. See if Flo succeeded by coming to the Richmond Memorial Library on June 28th and sign-up for the Summer Reading Program.”
Week 6: Clue for afternoon of June 12 to morning of June 19 is:“Flo sees some water that is deep blue. Could this be where the island is? No it isn’t, but Flo is getting tired. Should she stop at another pool and swim or find a relaxing spa before she continues her travels? She decides to visit a spa.”
Week 5: Clue for afternoon of June 5 to morning of June 12 is: “Flo was flying so low, she saw some birds running from a barbeque. She got nervous and thought someone might mistake a flamingo for a chicken. Suddenly Flo sees a sign that says “Birds of all colorsmeet here.” Maybe a bird in this market place knows if she is headed in the right direction. She is told that she has gone too far west. Flo must turn around and head back the way she came to find Richmond Reader.”
Week 4: The clue for the afternoon of May 29 to morning of June 5 is: “Flo may run into some of her animal friends at her next stop. She heard that Neptune’s in his garden. Since he is the Roman god of water and the sea, she thought he could give her a clue to where the deserted island might be. He has a pet parrot and Flo is getting hungry, so she stops to shop for bird food before she continues searching.”
Week 3: The clue for the afternoon of May 22 to the morning of May 29 is: “Flo has been flying for the longest time. She sees a bed in a room that looks like the perfect place for her to rest. What a great way for our world traveler to relax before she continues to look for Richmond Reader.”
Week 2: The clue for the afternoon of May 15 to the morning of May 22 is: “Flo stopped suddenly because she can hear the Village People singing one of her favorites songs as they workout and splash in the pool. These Young Men Care About reading so I hope they know something to help Flo find Richmond Reader.”
Week 1: The clue for the afternoon of May 8 to the morning of May 15 is:"Before Flo starts to look for the deserted island she would like to learn about dancing. She has heard that the lost Richmond Reader will be found center stage doing a hula dance - practicing so he can perform for company when he is found."
When you find Flo, write on your form the words that are part of the message from Richmond Reader. Bring the form to the Children's Room each week for a prize.
